Roma defender Kostas Manolas isn’t going nowhere this summer as the Greek international is set to sign a renewal with club.
Following the departure of Miralem Pjanic to Juventus, Roma will look to tie up one of the side’s pillars moving forward. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Manolas will stay at Roma for the summer and will begin contract negotiations with the club in the coming days.
After an impressive season in the nation’s capital, Manolas has attracted interest from clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United among others. However, the player will stay put as Luciano Spalletti has deemed him crucial in his plans for next season. Considering Antonio Rudiger’s long-term injury layoff, Manolas’ renewal makes all the more sense. In addition, any sale of the Greek defender before September 1st would man that his former team Olympiakos would receive half the transfer fee.
