The Italian midfielder does not consider himself the same as the greats who wore the gamed Number 10 jersey.
Speaking to the media in the mixed zone at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais following Italy’s opening win over Belgium, Thiago Motta gave his thoughts on the uproar of being given the #10 jersey:
It is normal because Italy is renowned for the number 10s. If you tell me about Zidane or Baggio, I do not have the same characteristics as them. I play like I have the entire year with Paris Saint-Germain. I understand the criticism, I accept it.
