Niang: “I Am Pleased with My Performance”

Milan’s French attacker M’Baye Niang returned to action on Saturday, starting in place of the suspended Giacomo Bonaventura. The 20-year old played out on the left and despite not being fully ready to let loose, the former Caen attacker was happy with his return

Niang took full advantage of Bonaventura’s absence by turning in a solid performance early on against Atalanta. Despite the club being held to a draw, the former Montpellier forward was happy with the way he played regardless of his own physical limitations.

Niang, according to the official club site:

“I tried to give my absolute all. I knew I didn’t have the full 90 minutes in me, but I gave all that I had while I could. I am pleased with my performance, but I could have done more, but I am still lacking in match-fitness. “

Playing as the left-winger, Niang explained:

“I have always enjoyed playing on the left and I know that role well. I often tried to take on and beat my man. Serie A is difficult and Atalanta played a good match tonight.”

Lastly, the former Genoa loanee talked about the upcoming battle with Juventus in a few weeks:

“We now have to go to Turin with the same mentality that we had for the match versus Lazio. We have two weeks to prepare for the match against Juventus.”
