Fiorentina are vying for a new look in the 2016/2017 campaign by looking at new defensive options.
Over the past few seasons, Fiorentina has brought in several La Liga players into their team such as Borja Valero, Giuseppe Rossi, Gonzalo Rodriguez and others, now the club is looking at Spain’s Jorge Mere as a possible addition to their backline.
According to Spain newspaper Marca the Viola are interested in acquiring the Sporting Gijon defender this summer and they have already dispatched scouts to observe the youngster first hand.
The Oviedo native has made 23 total appearances with the La Liga outfit and is looking for a way out to a bigger club, per sources.
Meré has represented Spain at every youth level, including a long captain spell with the U-19 side.
