Claudio Marchisio suffered a torn ACL injury against Palermo during a challenge with Franco Vazquez, ending his season and his Euro 2016 ambitions.
On Juventus’ official website, the club issued a statement on the operation and recovery for the Italy midfielder.
“This morning’s operation on the midfielder’s anterior cruciate ligament is a success. He is expected to return to competitive action in approximately six months’ time.
“The operation, performed by Professor Flavio Quaglia at Turin’s Fornaca di Sessant Clinic, was 100 per cent successful. The midfielder is expected to return to competitive action in approximately six months’ time. ”
Marchisio’s expected return in October means that he will miss the beginning of the Serie A campaign and the first World Cup qualifiers for the Azzuri in September and October.
