Inter have resigned former captain and current Vice President Javier Zanetti to a career long deal.
In a statement issued on Inter’s official media channel, the Nerazzurri have decided to continue with Javier Zanetti in an administrative role with the club.
“It’s an honour for me to spend the rest of my career at the place I love the most. Inter has been that, the best years of my life for me and my family,” Zanetti stated.
“I’m already thinking about the future of the club, working hard to return to European football’s top table, where I played wearing these colours. I believe in the plans the president and club are carrying forward to get us there.”
Inter originally signed the Argentina native in 1995 from Banfield and the rest is history. Zanetti made 824 appearances on the field for Inter in a near 2 decade long career with the Nerazzurri.
He also made 144 appearances for the Argentina national team.
His accolades at Inter include the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, 4 Coppa Italia and 5 Scudetti.
