After another disappointing result, Lazio are really struggling to gain a place in next year’s Europa League. Simone Inzaghi had his say about today’s 2-1 defeat to Sampdoria as he spoke to Lazio Style Channel.
Inzaghi: “We lacked cynicism, in six years working with players I’ve never lost a game like that, football is unforgiving and you need to be more cynical in games.”
“The game should have tilted our way since we were the ones doing everything, however today it did not go our way, it was a bit of our fault and a bit of us not having enough luck.”
“We are very disappointed, we are going home with an undeserved defeat. About Rizzoli, I still haven’t seen the episode, there was probably confusion with the foul, but we should have closed out the game in the first half. 5 glorious chances to score and we didn’t put any of them away, we risked losing becauase of that.”
“When I substituted Candreva it was because I needed Djordjevic to be the center of the attack, Candreva seemed more tired to me than Keita and I preferred to take him out because of that.”
Lazio play host to Inter next Sunday at the Stadio Olimpico di Roma, where they must win to even have a chance at playing in Europe next season.
