The 2-0 win over relegation zone rivals Frosinone ensures Palermo have a chance at surviving this season.
In a tug of war Palermo, for once, came out on top as the winners following two second half goals courtesy of Gilardino and Trajkovski. Last weekend was a total disaster for the Sicilians as Carpi pulled three points clear, but at the moment the two sides are drawn even on points, however Carpi have the goal differential tie breaker in their favor.
Today’s coach, Davide Ballardini was able to put together a team that played on the counter for the full 90 minutes. The first goal of the match came via a cross from Andrea Rispoli and Alberto Gilardino was able to latch onto it and head it home for the opener.

The second goal from Palermo came on a quick counter following a succession of efforts from Frosinone. Trajkovski beat two defenders on the break and calmly slotted it home past the sprawling Nicola Leali in the late-going.
The Rosanero have an uphill battle in front of them, at the moment Carpi are the ones staying in Serie A and have a game in hand. Palermo will finish the season against Sampdoria (H), Fiorentina (A) and finally the finale with last place Hellas Verona at the Stadio Renzo Barbera.
