The young Brazilian midfielder is ready to trade in the black and white stripes for a long-term future in Spain.
Following a successful stint in Spain’s Segunda Division, on-loan at Leganés, defensive midfielder Gabriel Appelt Pires will now call La Liga home for the future. As reported by Tuttomercatoweb, Leganés will activate the option to buy attached to the loan deal, in the coming days. The club consider him to be a key part of their squad and do not seem to have the intention of flipping him off to another Spanish club despite the rumors of Espanyol, Real Sociedad and Real Betis all being interested in the Brazilian.
Gabriel and his brother Guilherme were both signed by Juventus from Resende Futbol Club in Brazil back in 2011 and were immediately integrated into the Primavera set-up. Gabriel never took the pitch once in Serie A for Juventus, instead was shipped out on loan to the likes of Pescara, Spezia and Livorno before ending up in Spain. At Leganés this season, he made 37 appearances, scoring 7 goals and picking up 4 assists.
