Higuain’s agent believes his client and brother should only receive a one-game ban and voices his displeasure on injustices in football today.
Following his client’s outburst having receiving a red card in yesterday’s 3-1 loss to Udinese, Nicolas Higuain spoke to Radio CRC about the incident and his brother’s reaction:
I spoke with Higuain after the game. He was angry, disappointed and he vented. It is difficult to fight against the wind and the tide. Yesterday, he was given a yellow for protesting an offside that was non-existent and now we are waiting for the disciplinary committee’s decision. A few days ago, we saw a Juventus player speaking with an official and no sanction was given therefore I hope the sanction given to Higuain will only be for one or two games.
He protested because it was not an offside as shown by the replay. There are many injustices in football and this changes the season. The reaction by Gonzalo is that of a football who feels there is injustice against him because there was a foul on him by Felipe but the official did not whistle right away. It is a game situation and the official waited for Gonzalo’s reaction before blowing the whistle. It is a foul in Argentina and everywhere else in the world but I am not sure in Italy. Dignity and pride comes first but when you see these things starting to happen, you begin to think badly. If the law at the disciplinary commitee is equal for everyone then just as Bonucci’s headbutt on Rizzoli went unpunished, I expect Higuain to be banned for only one game. No red card for given to Bonucci so Higuain should get one game.
You cannot take Higuain’s behavior as an example and ban him to make others understand what they should not do on the pitch. If you do not do it with Bonucci, you cannot do it to Higuain either. I expect a fair verdict.
