In the last international break, fifteen Juventus players were called up to their respective national teams. Here is how they all fared.
Italy –
Gianluigi Buffon: The legendary shot-stopper featured in both of Italy’s wins over Azerbaijan and Norway and didn’t do anything of note over both games. Moreover, he couldn’t have done much on either goal he conceded.
Leonardo Bonucci: The former Bari man played the full ninety minutes in both of Italy’s games this international break. After a shaky game against Azerbaijan, Bonucci put in an assured performance against the Norwegians.
Andrea Barzagli: The veteran defender did not play in gli Azzurri’s win over Azerbaijan but he did start in the game against Norway. Barzagli was eventually substituted by Candreva with twenty minutes left to play after a rather solid display.
Giorgio Chiellini: The hard-nosed defender started in both of Italy’s game in this international break. The Juventus man could have done better on Azerbaijan’s opener but redeemed himself with an impressive game at the heart of the defence against Norway.
Simone Zaza: The former Juventus man didn’t play a single minute over the course of this international break.
Daniele Rugani: The U-21 international played in both of Italy’s games against the U-21 Slovenia team as well as the U-21 Republic of Ireland side. In both games, Rugani was a rock at the back and provided his team with solidity at the back. Gli Azzurrini would dispatch of their opponents 3-0 and 1-0 respectively.
Spain –
Alvaro Morata: The Spanish international was stretchered off the pitch and returned to Juventus’ headquarters in La Roja’s win over Luxembourg. It appears, however, that he will recover in time for Juventus’ game against Inter.
France –
Paul Pogba: The former Manchester United man withdrew from the France squad due to a knock to his ankle.
Patrice Evra: The fullback played the full ninety minutes in his side’s win over Armenia and was a constant threat down the left hand side. He did, however, not feature in France’s victory over Denmark.
Argentina –
Roberto Pereyra: The Juventus midfielder missed his side’s games against Ecuador and Paraguay through injury but stayed with the team throughout the international break signalling that his knock is not that serious.
Paulo Dybala: The Argentine received his first call-up to the senior national team but did not feature against Paraguay. He did, however, make his debut against Paraguay when he came on for Carlos Tevez in the 75th minute. Despite showing flashes of brilliance, the forward was unable to give his team the victory.
Gabon –
Mario Lemina: The former Marseille man scored on his international debut for Gabon against Tunisia. He also played 77 minutes against Congo and continued his good form despite his team’s loss.
Croatia –
Mario Mandzukic: After getting called up with a slight knock, the Croatian manager deemed playing the striker not worth the risk. Mandzukic returned to Juventus on October 7th.
Colombia –
Juan Cuadrado: The Juventus winger didn’t have the best international break. Cuadrado played the full ninety minutes in his side’s win over Peru and did well enough. That said, he had a torrid time against Uruguay and even got sent off in stoppage time. In addition to this, it seems that he injured his Juventus teammate Martin Caceres after a hard tackle in the process.
Uruguay –
Martin Caceres: The Uruguayan international played the full ninety minutes in his team’s win over Bolivia but had to be subbed off in the 19th minute of Uruguay’s game against Colombia due to a knock.
