Allegri, be courageous, play Dybala

Paulo Dybala has been thrown into the deep end of a big pool at Juventus. In a year where the old guard has began to depart and the new blood coming in, the Argentina starlet has found himself in a peculiar position.

At Palermo, there was little doubting his potential and it goes far beyond his statistical value. The fans loved him, his teammates loved him, his coach loved him, even Zamparini loved him. Well, perhaps for the fact that he knew Dybala would make him much richer.

I digress, Paulo Dybala at the age of 21 is playing for a European giant and the 4 time consecutive Scudetto winning side Juventus. What’s equally impressive is that Dybala has recently made his debut for the senior Argentina side in the hotly contested attack. There’s doubting this, the Juventus forward will be one of the best in the world in the years to come.

Statistically speaking, his numbers are almost identical to Carlos Tevez upon his arrival in Turin. The key difference is Tevez started nearly every game, while Dybala’s minutes have been limited with Morata and Mandzukic in front of him. Morata, however, is the future of the Spanish national team, Juventus are gifted with two of the brightest forwards in the world. Spoiled for choice really, but with the start to the campaign being less than impressive as a whole, with Juve only winning 4 of their first 11 matches, it’s time to make a change. Give Dybala the full 90.

Allegri has been asked in the conference room nearly every time he’s appeared about Dybala. His answer is constant, “let him develop in peace,” he says. Perhaps now it is time to put him on the front burner and give him the playing time he needs to develop at a quicker pace.

Dybala on Allegri: “he knows what to do, every day he speaks to me on what I need to do to get better…He’s a great coach.”

In his first seven Serie A matches with Juventus, he has scored threetimes. Not bad at all for the youngster, what’s even more impressive is he is the top scorer for the club. Nobody else has scored more than once so far for Juventus, in addition, Dybala has another assist to his name, proving he is the catalyst for this Juventus offense.

Coach Massimiliano Allegri may be second guessing himself on rushing a youngster into the field of battle, but the time is now.

In spite of all of this, you hear no complaints from Paulo, himself. In a recent interview with Sky Sport, Dybala praised Allegri, saying “he knows what to do, every day he speaks to me on what I need to do to get better…He’s a great coach.”

It’s no surprise that in Argentina they call Dybala “La Joya” or ‘The Jewel’. Let’s not kid ourselves, he’s not being ruined and he’s not being cast aside. But now, it’s time to unleash arguably the most talented striker Juventus have had since the days of David Trezeguet.
