AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani spoke to the press following the 1-0 win over Chievo Verona today, citing numerous positives from the club’s performance.
“We simply had to take full advantage of these two home matches and we’ve done just that. We did well in the second half, not as well in the first, but I am happy that we kept a clean sheet and that is the most important thing from tonight. Up next is a tough match on Sunday against Lazio. We cannot get ahead of ourselves with our 16 point total, but things are starting to look more interesting, but let’s not focus too much on the league table as Sunday we have a big match and we have to try and do well in Rome and then take full advantage of the following match at home to Atalanta.
“I want to reveal something that no one knew. Yesterday, Bonaventura sprained his ankle and a miraculous job was done and we were able to have him fit in time for tonight’s match. No one knew about this. Well done to all the medical staff. It was looking impossible yesterday that he would play, but in the end he made it.
“The most positive aspect from tonight is that we finally kept a clean sheet. Sassuolo are an excellent side, just like Chievo, it’s a very balanced championship so far. Before making a signing, we analyse all the data possible. Bertolacci and Kucka as far as I am concerned and for all the data collected, are two good players and there is no reason in the world why they won’t be good players for Milan. I am confident.
“As the coach said, I think we will end up playing a 4-4-2 as soon as we have Niang back available. Let’s hope we can also get Balotelli back as soon as possible so we can have 4 forwards to rotate. “We have launched a programme called ‘progetto talenti’ (talent project) where we identify those that we believe can make it in the first team.
