Mancini spoke to the press at Appiano Gentile before flying down to Palermo for Satruday’s match. Mancini spoke about some players who were rumored to be on the way out come January, most notably left back Davide Santon and ex captain Andrea Ranocchia.
Mancini began, “First of all, we have not made a list of disposable players (he laughs). Santon arrived in January and is a player who grew up playing within the Inter ranks. He has improved and will only do more to improve. He is absolutely not a player we are looking to let go.”
Then, Mancini’s focus turned to ex captain Andrea Ranocchia:
“Ranocchia played very well in the Berlusconi Cup. He’s a very good player. Players make mistakes, though. I’m sorry that he finds himself on the bench. I do hope to be able to play him, though, because he is a great guy and a great player. I have nothing against Ranocchia, frankly.”
