Buffon Calls on his Teammates to be More Humble

After yet another disappointing loss, Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon called on his teammates to be more humble with their approach to games.

Following their 1-0 loss to Juventus, the Italian champions are left languishing in 12th place on twelve points. Buffon was especially livid after the game and told reporters,:

“Juventus have to start showing signs of confidence and belief. After ten games, it’s no accident to find ourselves this far down the table. An approach this unworthy to games is not possible. Today, it was rather obvious that we played an awful first half. We didn’t win one aerial duel and has many problems. We have to fight less with the referees and have more humility when playing. We must really sit down and have a serious self-evaluation. The referees will make mistakes in your favour and vice-versa. As the team’s captain, I can’t allow for us to keep playing like this. If there is no desire to fight, we won’t go far.”

Are your struggles on the new players who can’t adapt right away?

“No, I don’t think so. This excuse was valid a few weeks ago but not today.”
