Patrice Evra, who is known to be very honest and open with the press, pulled no punches on his team’s abysmal performance against Sassuolo.
Many have described the first half as the worst and years by Juventus.
Evra spoke to Sky Sports ahead of the training retreat which will feature intense preparation ahead of the Derby della Mole against Torino.
“Yesterday’s Juve wasn’t the real Juve. You can play games like the one against Atalanta and then a first half like the one against Sassuolo. There are a few players that aren’t conscious [of the severity] of the situation, that they aren’t responsible, for this we’re going back to a private training camp. I don’t like going on those, but in this case it’s the right thing to do.
“The club thinks that it’s important for somebody to wear the Juventus shirt. I don’t like teams that win first then lose, it’s like a yoyo.
“We cannot talk about the title, we have to think solely to Torino. We’re hindering the possibility of winning another Scudetto.
“The message to my teammates is clear: ‘We have to respect this shirt’.
“In the first half against Sassuolo we didn’t to that. Saturday, at least from the point of view of our attitude, I’m sure that we’ll play a good game.
“Torino? Last year I played my first game after a 50 game injury stop, Bruno Peres made me suffer on his goal. I don’t think that will happen this time.”
