After another disappointing international break, the Azzurri have continued their slide down the table.
Despite tying 1-1 with Spain, the 4-1 loss against Germany apparently did some damage to Italy’s spot in the FIFA rankings.
Italy fell to 15th in the table after being leapfrogged by Switzerland. Meanwhile at the top of the table, Argentina usurped the top spot away from Belgium.
The Italians also fell to 9th in the European rankings, which could lead to tougher draws when the groups are to be drawn for qualification to Euro 2020.
