Following Napoli’s 3-1 loss at the hands of Udinese on Sunday afternoon, the captain of the club, Marek Hamsik, gave an interview in the mixed zone of Dacia Arena talking about the game, and some of what the player said was reported by Radio Kiss Kiss Italia.
“It was a game full of nerves; the team must always be calm and not be influenced by the events in the match,” Hamsik said. “All matches are crucial, including today’s game. Now there is Verona and the obligation to win.”
The reporters then asked Hamsik if the dream of winning a scudetto was now gone. Hamsik responded and added further comments about the team’s difficulties on Sunday:
“It was a dream and it remains so; we must try until the end when it is no longer mathematically possible. There were so many difficulties today; we must move past this and think only about playing. Udinese is set up to remain in mid-table. They have had difficulties, but today they proved themselves.”
Hamsik was asked about the refereeing today also and made his remark brief:
“I have not reviewed the penalties, but it hurts to concede two.”
