Day two into the Conte training camp and we’ve already seen a slew of injuries.
Sassuolo forward Domenico Berardi was finally given his long awaited senior call up to the Italian national side for the first time on Sunday.
“Unfortunately he’s had a problem,” Conte stated in his daily press conference at the Azzurri camp.
“He’s had tests and it’s not anything serious. The player was feeling a lot of pain, which worried him, and he preferred to rest and recuperate.
“I understand that, because he’s just coming back from an injury, so he’ll return home. I’m sorry, but I hope he can do well.”
Meanwhile in defense, Luca Antonelli was called up to the Italy camp for the struggling Davide Santon, who had reportedly succumb to a muscle injury.
However, Sky Sport Italia reported that Santon had recovered in time and would be able to play, therefore, Antonelli would stay in Milan.
Italy take on Norway and Azerbaijan, and are on the verge of qualifying for Euro 2016.
