Speaking at an event in Rome, promoting the 2024 Olympic bid, Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi spoke on the winning mindset he has always had.
However, he did make an exception for his Olympic team in 2004.
“In my sport, if you come in second place you are a failure.
“However, bringing home the Bronze for the Olympic games in 2004 was something unique, something gigantic.
We football players should learn from this. It would be wonderful to bring the Olympics to Rome and I’d be happy to see it as a sportsman and an athlete, even if I’ll be too old to take part in it.”
