Italy has qualified for Euro 2016 finishing first in their group. While we wait for the December 12, 2015 draw to see in which group the Azzurri will be in, I take a look at who is a lock and who remains a contender for a spot on Antonio Conte’s 23 man roster.
During the Euro qualifiers, 34 players were capped for Italy. Interestingly, only Matteo Darmian played in all 10 of Italy’s qualifiers.
The table below lists all the players who played during the qualifiers with some stats, and in addition others were added whom I believe Conte is still keeping an eye on.
Assumption: Conte will callup 3 goalkeepers, 7 defenders, 8 midfielders, 5 forwards
