Today, Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon spoke to the media about Antonio Conte’s effect on the national team and touched upon his impact.
Since assuming reigns of the national team Antonio Conte has steadily improved the performances of his side but more importantly has them in first place into the group going into the last two games. Italy captain Gianluigi Buffon spoke to reporters about his effect on the team today. He said,:
“I’m very lucky because I have the advantage of knowing Conte and the team. The manager is someone who loves his job too much. He would never do it with his head elsewhere. Until he’s here he will give his all and we will do the same. Most of the time the team plays in the image of the manager. Personally, I didn’t think I would be here for thirteen years but it gives me great pleasure to keep playing with the national team.”
On Pirlo’s injury:
“His absence will have a big effect on us. He’s a player that is hard to replace but whoever plays will do good and play to their strengths.”
