Five things that we learned from Juventus-Bologna

For the first time, the bianconeri take home all three points in domestic play against the felsinei, but something is still missing…

5. Allegri continues to play a chamaleontic formation

In the pregame presser, Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri stated clearly: “Last time I gave you 10 of 11 starters, this time I give you all 11: we will play the same players that played against Seville. The formation? You have to figure that out”.

Just like in the Champions League match, Juventus started with a 3-5-2 thanks to a Barzagli who can take a wider position on the right, which allowed Cuadrado to advance and use Khedira’s overlap on the right wing.

On the other side, Evra would advance, shifting Barzagli into a central defender role.

This chamelion-like approach to tactics allows Juventus to count on secure defending solidified under Conte’s 3-5-2, as well as frenetic offensive forays of the 4-3-3.
