Napoli’s assistant coach filled in for head coach Maurizio Sarri in the aftermath of Thursday night’s last group stage match of the Europa League. Here is what Calzona had to say to Sky Sport.
Calzona was asked about Omar El Kaddouri and Ivan Strinic’s roles on the team:
“Omar El Kaddouri and Ivan Strinic are very good players and true professionals: both will be very useful as the season goes on.”
Then he was asked which team he would like to avoid in the Round of 32 Draw:
“Maybe I would avoid Valencia, but if it happens, fair enough.”
Then Calzona was asked about the squad’s preparations for Roma on the weekend:
“Tomorrow we will think about Roma. So far we have prepared for Legia and we take the Europa League very seriously.”
