Following a series of discussions, Sampdoria will no longer be pursuing Gokhan Inler. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the former Napoli midfielder has chosen a move to the Bundesliga with Schalke instead of an Italy return with the Blucerchiati.
Inler, who currently plays for Ranieri’s Leicester City, made the decision that was best for his career. Despite Sampdoria’s advances, the Swiss international sees Schalke as the ideal option for him. With this decision, Sampdoria can now turn their attention to other mercato targets.
The Swiss international has only made 5 appearances for Leicester City, three of which were in the Starting XI.
