Cellino Changes Mind Over TV Presence at the Stadium

Leeds United president Massimo Cellino, who banned all Sky cameras from covering today’s game, has now changed his mind.

Prior to tonight’s kickoff that saw Leeds take on Derby County in the Championship, Cellino banned all Sky cameras from going to the stadium as it discourages fans from attending the game. According to Gazzetta della Sport, Cellino has now changed his mind and has allowed Sky cameramen in at Elland Road.

Cellino’s main qualm with Sky is that they often chose to cover Leeds United games and broadcast them live on television which resulted in a decrease in attendance at the stadium. The English side have, however, protested this and will look to change it going forward. Moreover, the presence of Sky has also led to a change in time of most games due to television constraints which in turn have an adverse effect on both the players and the fans.

Tonight’s game marks the third time a Leeds United game is televised. As a result of their live broadcast, Sky will make approximately 100,000 to 120,000 pounds. While Cellino is no longer in Italy, his antics continue.
