Palermo are reportedly in the market for another striker after completing the signing of Manuel Arteaga from the Swiss league yesterday.
Considered one of Greece’s top talents, Panathinaikos striker Nikos Karelis‘ 23 goals in 71 appearances have not gone unnoticed in Europe. According to Alfredo Pedulla, Palermo Sporting Director Manuel Gerolin recently confirmed the Sicilian club’s interests in Karelis:
“We are following him. We are interested in him but for now there is nothing else. We will see what happens at the end of the January mercato but I do not believe a deal will materialize seeing as Panathinaikos are asking for a lot of money.”
Karelis has appeared for Greece on the international stage at all levels, from U17 to the Senior squad. He is capped 7 times at the Senior level, scoring once.
