If there is one thing that Fiorentina manager Paulo Sousa expects from his Scudetto-contending squad, it is balance in transitioning from attack to defence and vice-versa.
In his favored 3-4-2-1 formation, the movement of the outside midfield players is key with maximum attention given not only to their attacking prowess but their defensive contributions as well.
According to La Gazetta dello Sport, this is an area where Sousa feels La Viola need improving and he has already made it known to the club that he is in search of player who can create a numerical advantage in the final third and add defensive coverage off the ball.
The name that is highlighted on his list, is that of 22-year old Honduran midfielder Andy Najar, currently playing his football in Belgium for Anderlecht. Najar has made 17 Jupiler League appearances this term, racking up two goals and 5 yellow cards.
La Gazetta dello Sport reports that an inquiry has been made by Fiorentina and that the Honduran is valued at around €5 million. Gifted with good dribbling skills and an energetic on-field presence, Najar is also a former graduate of D.C. United’s academy, winning the MLS Rookie of the Year in 2010. On an international level, he has been capped 38 times for Honduras and was a member of their 2014 World Cup squad.
