Allegri: “It’s Useless To Talk About The Referee, Compliments To My Players.”

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri spoke after his side’s defeat and highlighted that while the referee was poor, there’s no use in talking about it.

In his post-match interview with Premium Sport, the former Milan tactician said,:

“It’s a shame to be eliminated after a performance like this against a Bayern side with extraordinary players. Football is beautiful because with one minute left in the first half Cuadrado could have made it 3-0. Morata did well and Lichtsteiner had a chance to score an important goal. Mandzukic shot it at the keeper when we could have reopened the game at 4-2. Being up 2-0 at half-time wasn’t simply. We played a game full of personality but we had to improve our final ball.

On the refereeing:

“It’s useless to talk about the ref. I can always compliment my team. It was an important test for us, we played one of the Champion League’s favourites with a young team. We have to forget about it as on Sunday there’s the derby and then there’s the international break.

On Morata:

“I put in a fresh player like Mandzukic who could have help up the ball. Their two smaller centre-halves couldn’t contain him. We had to do better in taking advantage of our chances.”

On Coman:

“He had a good game, then he scored his goal in open space. He’s growing a lot. He can do a lot better in Germany as their team are miles ahead of the rest which gives him more space.”
