Milan and Lazio squared off at the San Siro on Sunday, playing to a 1-1 draw. Both clubs had their chances, but the deadlock could not be broken despite the biancocelesti going down a man late in the match. Here is what manager Siniša Mihajlović had to say to Milan Channel after the match.
Mihajlović:
“The first half was a balanced affair while we dominated after the break. We create a lot of chances as a team, but we don’t make them count. We gave our all out on the pitch tonight and the team played with the right attitude. Our performance lacked quality, but even playing in this way, we still created a lot of opportunities. We took on a fine team tonight who have great abilities, regardless of the moment they are experiencing. Unfortunately, we lacked the cutting edge tonight.”
The manager on Riccardo Montolivo and Luiz Adriano:
“Montolivo was coming back after missing the past few matches while Luiz Adriano was another one who wasn’t in peak shape.”
“Luiz Adriano had a good game tonight. He battled, he provided an assist and moved well off the ball. He asked to come off because he was tired, but I am happy with him.”
The former Sampdoria boss on the failed attempt to narrow the gap between a few league opponents:
“Tonight is another missed opportunity. We could have closed the gap on Fiorentina and Inter, but we didn’t manage it.”
