Emanuele Giaccherini is going to be heading back to Sunderland at the end of the season, unless an offer is made by Bologna, as per his agent.
Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, Emanuele Giaccherini’s Furio Valcareggi discussed his client’s future and impending return to England.
One thing is for sure, Giaccherini will return to Sunderland at the end of his loan. The agreement with Bologna was a dry loan with an option to buy. He still has a year left on his contract with the English club, who are in a financial situation which will permit them to evaluate the best options. Of course, talking about his future now is premature and we will have to see if Sunderland stays up.
Valcareggi was asked if there was still a possibility that Giaccherini remains at Bologna:
There would have to be an offer. Emanuele is doing well at Bologna and they are happy with him. We will see.
