Mihajlović Expecting A Great Performance From His Milan Tomorrow v Lazio

On Saturday, Milan boss Siniša Mihajlović previewed the pivotal home battle with Lazio at Milanello. Here is what the Serbian tactician had to say in his pre-match presser.

Mihajlović opened his press conference previewing his former club, via acmilan.com:

“I am expecting a great performance. I want the players to give me a good display and without errors. If they do that, then the result will follow. Knowing how things work at Lazio, they will naturally be coming here to win. They’re hardly going to be making the trip to play for anything less than the win. It isn’t an easy situation, but in recent seasons, Lazio have done well and they have a lot of quality players.”

The former Sampdoria leader on the state of his job:

“The press are talking about my future, but I am happy to be here and I have another year to run on my contract. I am not thinking about my future and I am very happy to be at Milan. When I am at a club, I give 100% and I have no distractions. I know how things work in football. I am aware of all the names linked with the Milan bench in recent months, but I am used to all of this.”

Milan, who reside in 6th place in the league table, are witnessing a top three finish escape them as the season creeps to a close. Mihajlović on the placement of his club:

“Sixth place isn’t good enough for us. Nothing has been lost and we have time to make this a positive season. We want to improve our position in the league table.”

“Based on previous seasons, Juventus, Napoli, Roma and Fiorentina, started better equipped and that is not an excuse. If we play with the right attitude, we can catch up with our rivals and overtake them. We are 6 points behind Inter and Fiorentina. We have a lot of quality in our squad.”

The former Serbia manager closed his conference by talking about a few individuals, particularly Mario Balotelli:

“Luiz Adriano has trained as well as Menez and Balotelli over the past 10 days. He is not yet 100%, but the difference comes with the mental attitude and the desire to work hard for the team. He always gives everything he has out on the pitch while he can.”

“Honda always trains hard. He always has the right attitude. He may have an off-day but it’s rare to see him play with the wrong attitude.”
