The Partonopei came back down from 1-0 to score three goals in the second half to take well earned three points at home.
Here’s how we rated the Napoli players and their individual performances following the 3-1 win.
REINA (5)– He only had to deal with a couple shots and the goal that he let in was straight at him and it was very disappointing that he didn’t save it.
ALBIOL (7.5)– Best defender on the pitch surprisingly and intercepted a lot of key passes and kept out some crosses and played the ball well around the back.
KOULIBALY (6.5)– Koulibaly did his usual job except he did struggle a couple times letting the Genoa attackers get past him relatively easily and did pick up a booking.
HYSAJ (6.5)– Played pretty well throughout the game despite the fact he got forward sometimes and left the right flank open and vulnerable.
GHOULAM (6)– Ghoulam played alright today putting in some decent crosses and attacked alright but like Hysaj, kept his respective flank open at times.
ALLAN (8)– This little man is an absolute monster. He never stops running, he made a lot of tackles, some key passes and also started some good attacks.
JORGINHO (6.5)– Did his usual job in the middle of the park completing about 85-90% of his passes and did get a booking for a intentional foul.
HAMSIK (6.5)– Despite having a very quiet first half, he picked up his form in the second half creating some chances, nearly scoring twice and getting an assist for one of Higuain’s two goals.
INSIGNE (6)– Insigne had a couple chances including a header but other than that didn’t influence the game all too much but had a couple shots and was still a massive threat down the left and right.
HIGUAIN (8.5)– Higuain was very in form today and we saw it from the very beginning. He showed the fight and will to win and scored two very nice goals and played like the Higuain we’ve seen all season.
CALLEJON (5)– I don’t think I can recall Jose Maria doing anything well today. Got caught offsides one or two times. Didn’t play well offensively but did track back well and did eventually get subbed off for Mertens.
SUBSTITUTES
MERTENS (6.5)– Mertens came on for a dead Callejon and made a difference in the attacking third. His dribbling and pace caused Fiamozzi to be on his toes every second and created quite a few chances for the time he was in the game.
GABBIADINI (6.5)– Didn’t get much of the ball today except for a very nice back heel pass to El Kaddouri which led to the third goal.
EL KADDOURI (N/A)– He finally scored his first goal in a very long time and it was in injury time to kill the game off and give Napoli the win.
