Milan, Mihajlović: “That Was Not The Milan I Wanted”

An angry Siniša Mihajlović was not too pleased with the way his Milan side performed in their 2-0 loss at Mapei Stadium to Sassuolo. He spoke to Sky after the crushing loss which puts a damper on their chase for third.

Mihajlović:

“We dominated the first half, but as always, we struggle to score goals. You can’t dominate and then concede the first goal. After we conceded a goal, we lost control of the match. That wasn’t the Milan I wanted. This defeat burns, but we must not forget what we accomplished before today. We have to recover quickly and prepare for the upcoming match against Chievo Verona.”

Milan conceded their second goal to Nicola Sansone, but the buildup that lead to it saw Andrea Bertolacci pick up a knock from Davide Biondini. Mihajlović:

“I’m so angry. Angry with ourselves and with the officiating. But I don’t talk about officiating.”

The rossoneri boss on Mario Balotelli:

“When I lose, I don’t single out players. Players know who they are, how they played, and their responsibilities. I care about Balotelli. How he celebrates, or how much he smiles is not a concern of mine. That’s him. For me it doesn’t make a difference. It’s about how Balotelli performs on the field. I could care less about how much he smiles.”
