Parma Risk Being Without A Field As Training Ground Is Put Up For Sale

Parma could be without a field to train as the sale of their training ground has been authorized.

After a past year of turmoil, bankruptcy, relegation and management changes, it seemed as if Parma and its passionate supporters were finally headed towards a brighter future. After 29 games in Serie D Girone D this season, Parma have a solid grip on 1st place with 69 points, the lowest Goals Against in the league (12) and have yet to suffer a single loss. Against Castelfranco today, they can extend that streak to an incredible 30 games unbeaten with a win or draw. However, as such a grand achievement may be celebrated today on the pitch, harsh news has hit the club and its fanbase off the pitch.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the storied Emilia-Romagna club is at high risk of losing their training ground. Due to the bankruptcy of Eventi Sportivi, who control 90% of Parma F.C. (the other 10% belonging to T.I. Energy Group), the club may be deprived of their training ground as Chief Judge Pietro Rogato has authorized Bankruptcy Trustee, Vicenzo Piazza to proceed with the sale of their Sporting Center. The authorization of the sale was approved by the creditor’s commitee. The result of the sale will force the club to vacate all fields, gyms and locker rooms within 30 days notice.

What will now happen is that those interested in purchasing the property will have to submit an irrevocable offer by making a deposit which cannot be less than 10% of the asking price. The base price is set at 9.9 million. The attempt to sell the property will be held on April 28th at the Notary Office in the Piazzale Arrigo Boito in Parma.
