The Capital club have reportedly come to a decision on the future of Italian international Stephan El Shaarawy and are keen to retain him at the club.
El Shaarawy originally joined Ligue 1 side AS Monaco last summer, but returned to parent club AC Milan in January and was one appearance away from triggering an automatic purchase clause from the French side. The Italian was promptly loaned to the Giallorossi and it turned out to be the correct move for player.
Impressive displays for the Capital club will see Luciano Spalletti’s side exercise their €13 million purchase option for the 23 year old, as quoted by Italian newspaper Leggo.
It is also believed that El Shaarawy is keen to stay in Rome, after featuring in 16 Serie A games, notching 8 goals and two assists along the way.
The highly versatile winger has been pivotal in Roma’s resurgence in the second half of this season, as they completed the campaign unbeaten in 17 Serie A games to secure third place.
