Crotone want to be more than just tourists in Serie A next season and believe the signing of fresh, young talent will be key in their quest for survival.
Serie A will be a brand-new experience for the Calabrian club next season and despite moving up to the top flight, their transfer strategy will not be changing. According to Corriere dello Sport, the newly-promoted club is on the hunt for young talents across the league whom they can bring in on loan, without the burden of purchasing them outright, for the time being.
The Italian media outlet reports that Crotone have identified Roma’s 19-year old center-forward Umar Sadiq and Inter’s Romanian center-forward, 20-year old George Puscas (on loan at Bari) as transfer targets this summer. The club are also planning to speak to Roma about renewing the loan of Federico Ricci who heavily impressed them throughout the Serie B season.
Sadiq tore up the Primavera campaign for Roma, scoring 12 goals in 9 games, while also earning a call-up to the first team where he scored 2 goals in 6 appearances. Puscas made 16 appearances for Bari, scoring four and assisting once. He will also be remembered for his dramatic tying goal in Bari’s comeback against Novara in the Playoffs, despite the club later being eliminated in Extra-Time.
