The agent of the Italo-Brazilian made it all but official the fact that his client will not partake in Euro 2016.
Numerous reports this morning in Italy have more than suggested the fact that Jorginho will not partake in this summer’s European Championship.
Joao Santo, his agent told Naples based Radio CRC “There isn’t much of a chance for Jorginho to be called to the Euros. We’ll take note of that and we’ll work for Napoli. I’ve heard from the young man and he’s calm because Conte has chosen to go with more experienced players in that role like De Rossi and Thiago Motta.
“World Cup 2018? Right now it’s important that the Champions League is before everything for Jorginho, that he’ll undertake with Napoli, then we’ll see. With the no-call for the Euro we close a cycle, then we’ll reopen it and if the next coach is Ventura, Jorginho could have much more space with the 4-3-3, but the guy knows well that it’s important to be capped by Italy and to even have played just two friendlies.
“I’ve always believed in Jorginho’s potential, making grudges doesn’t help anybody, this year he did his best and because of this the lad is calm. In life you always must look forward to the future.”
Italy take on Belgium at the Stade de Lyon on June 13th to open their Euro campaign.
