Ventura and Italy Reach Agreement

After Antonio Conte announced he would step down as Italy boss, it didn’t take long for the Azzurri to find a suitable replacement.

According to Nicolo Schira, Torino boss Giampiero Ventura and Italy have reached an agreement that would see the former Bari tactician assume the reigns of the national team after the Euros. The deal will take Ventura all the way to 2018 and the manager will reportedly make 1 million and 350,000 thousand euros per year.

After achieving some stellar things with I granata including a deep run into the Europa League, Ventura is ready to take the step up to the national team. In the past he’s had success blooding through youngsters and getting the best out of misfiring players. Given Italy’s current crop of players, Tavecchio has identified Ventura as the ideal man for the job.
