Urbano Cairo: ”Immobile’s Attitude Is Incomprehensible”

The Torino President is not amused with his striker’s behavior as the Italian bomber is not convinced about remaining with the club.

It was scripted as a dream return to Torino for Ciro Immobile. The Granata faithful waited impatiently at the Caselle Airport in Torino, chanting and singing the name of their former capocannoniere who helped propel the club into a remarkable Europa League spot in 2014. After two unsuccessful spells abroad with Borussia Dortmund, where he failed to settle in, and Sevilla, where his playing time was severely limited, he was gifted a ticket back to the club that allowed him to run rampant all across Italy with his infectious scoring touch. In his first game back against Frosinone, he continued where he left off, scoring and assists in Torino’s 4-2 victory that day. However, it seems the Italian striker has taken a U-turn in regards to his intentions of staying at the club. This recent behavior was not appreciated by the club’s President.

In a recent interview with La Stampa, Torino President Urbano Cairo was vocal about his striker’s change in attitude and it did not sit well with the man in charge:

I had a great desire to redeem him but now, I do not understand his attitude. It is not a question of a million more or less, I only know that Gianluca Petrachi (Torino Sporting Director) told me that Immobile is not convinced about staying here. So at this time, Immobile has behaved himself in an incomprehensible way. If he really does not have the enthusiasm to stay here, then I will not even think of redeeming him.
