Napoli are hoping to sign off on a contract extension for one of their wingers a year before it is set to expire.
With a contract ending June 2018, next season could Dries Mertens last in a Napoli jersey however the club is not ready to see him fall into the hands of another club. As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli’s intention is to renew the Belgian winger’s contract until 2020. Mertens is open to prolonging his stay and answer could be given within the coming days.
The 29-year old has picked up 5 goals and 5 assists in 33 appearances and is currently in pre-Euro training with the Belgian National Team
