Napoli have certainly been a protagonist so far in this summer’s transfer market. The latest name they have been heavily linked with has been Sime Vrsaljko of Sassuolo.
The talented Croatian right back has seen his form with Sassuolo gain attention from big teams around Europe, as Atletico Madrid and Manchester City are reportedly interested in gaining his services. However, Napoli seem to be the favorites as they are reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Sassuolo on the player’s price-tag.
Vrsaljko, according to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport Italia, is valued at around €20 million however Napoli could be reaching an agreement on the basis of €15 million + bonuses for Vrsaljko.
With the inclusion of Sime Vrsaljko, that almost certainly spells the end of Christian Maggio’s stay at Napoli, as the veteran has been growing tired of his lack of playing time. The move could greatly improve the partenopei’s depth at wing back as they already have Faouzi Ghoulam, Ivan Strinic and Elseid Hysaj occupying those roles.
