Roma Have Eyes On River Plate Winger

Another River Plate youth product could be making his way to Italy in the near future.

River Plate’s academy has produced a wealth of talented footballers from the likes of Omar Sivori and Hernan Crespo to Javier Saviola and Pablo Aimar. Over the last years, we witnessed the rise of other youth standouts such as Mattias Kravevitter and Lucas Ocampos, who made the move to the European stage. A new name however has already been carving a reputation in his homeland and with a Copa Sudamericana title and Copa Libertadores title under his belt at the tender age of 20, it is no surprise that he is being scouted by one of Italy’s top clubs.

According to Vocegiallorossa.it, Roma have their sights set on 20-year old River Plate winger Sebastian Driussi. To convince the Argentinian club to sell, Roma will have to meet the winger’s 10 million release clause but with his contract ending in June 2017, there is a high probability that they could get him for less. The Giallorossi are not alone though in their pursuit for the young Argentinian. TuttoMercatoWeb reports that Fiorentina have already presented an offer to River Plate for Driussi but at the moment, there have been no advanced talks regarding a transfer.
