After the match against Frosinone, Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed during the press conference that Lorenzo Tonelli, 26-years-old first-string Empoli defender, will be an azzurro for the 2016/17 season.
The partenopei will have to face the UEFA Champions League next season, and AdL wants to reinforce the team as much as he can.
Napoli’s patron has also said that the deal isn’t already official (since player’s contracts can be registered from Monday 16th of May), but Friday both de Laurentiis and DS Cristiano Giuntoli have worked to make the transfer possible. Napoli’s president has also jokingly warned Maurizio Sarri: “Now you’re fu..ed, you’ll have to play both UCL and Serie A with 19 players!”
