Despite not featuring in either of Italy’s last two Group Stage games, the Azzurri CT is very pleased with what he is seeing from the Napoli star outside of the pitch.
In an interview on Rai‘s Il Grande Match, Italy bench boss Antonio Conte spoke about the pleasant surprise he has had in Lorenzo Insigne’s attitude and approach in training:
He is certainly one of the boys who participates more actively, it is a positive surprise and I am very happy for what he is doing, for how he is training and for his approach. I know I have an important card to play in certain moments. I wish I could make space for Lorenzo because he deserves it like the others. These lads need strong support, maybe this will not help us win but it is important to have a sense of belonging.
