The legendary Milan bench boss points out the dangers of not stopping the Swedish striker and how Italy can neutralize his threat.
While a guest on Rai’s Il Grande Match, former Azzurri tactician Arrigo Sacchi spoke about what Italy need to do to limit the impact of Sweden’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic:
To ‘lock down’ the Swede, they must bring him into non-dangerous areas of the pitch and keep him away from the penalty area. With the physical strength, conviction and determination he has, no one can stop him alone, but collectively and with intelligence, you can beat him.
Sacchi then spoke about Pelle in comparison to Ibrahimovic:
I repeat: On an individual level, nobody can compete with Ibrahimovic, but he struggles to connect with the others. Pelle, instead, is at ease with Conte because he is intelligent, moves properly and has a squad that revolves around him.
