Chiellini took the time to respond to Zlatan’s remarks from yesterday.
Following yesterday’s Euro 2016 match-up between Italy and Sweden some controversy was raised due to the aerial incident between Sweden’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini. After the heavy contact between the two, rumours have emerged stating that following the game, the two were involved in a physical altercation.
This would not have been the first time Ibra has been involved in a fight with a teammate or opponent, the most famous incident being in 2010 with then AC Milan teammate Oguchi Onyewu. The fight ended with a broken rib for the Swede. The rumours of the fight with Chiellini however we quickly dispelled by Ibrahimovic, who stated that if that were the case, the Italian centerback would be in the hospital.
After these remarks, Chiellini took to his official Facebook page, where he said “I’ve always loved Ibra, especially for his humour. We need some irony in football.”
