Greece likely the final destination for De Sanctis

The Italian veteran’s contract expires in 10 days with the Romans, meaning he will be a free agent.

At the age of 39, it’s unlikely that any club in Italy would give him a spot to be the starting keeper, however for Panathinaikos it may be a different story.

According to la Gazzetta dello Sport, the Greeks could sign De Sanctis to a one year deal, as their coach Andrea Stramaccioni wants to bring in an experienced goalkeeper for the following campaign.

De Sanctis played in 6 matches last season, allowing seven goals in the process. However he did manage to keep two clean sheets.

For Panathinaikos, the Athens based club finished second place in the Greek Super League last season, albeit 30 points behind Olympiakos.
