Kalidou Koulibaly has became a pillar of Napoli’s re-ascension into Champions League competition.
Chelsea put a massive bid on the table for the Senegalese centerback, an offer reported to be around €30 million according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
More so, club supremo Aurelio De Laurentiis has not even budged at Chelsea’s bid, and it will take something more than €40 million for him to even consider selling him. Koulibaly and Albiol will be fundamental components of Napoli’s Champions League ambitions next season and he’s not ready to sell, unless for an incredible sum.
Right now, Koulibaly earns a healthy €2 million a season, although it’s thought Chelsea could offer more.
This past season, Maurizio Sarri, head coach of Napoli, revolutionized Koulibaly and turned him from a prospect to a highly sought-after defender. He played in 42 competitive matches in all competitions in 2015/16.
He arrived from Belgian side Genk in 2014 for a reported fee of €7 million.
