Here is Italian Football Daily’s Serie A Team of the week for Round 16
Goalkeeper:
Antonio Mirante (Bologna) – Made two key saves on Pandev and De Maio, preserved the win over Genoa with a solid game
Defenders:
Kostas Manolas (Roma) – Was a brick wall and primary reason Napoli were held off the scoresheet
Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli) – Instrumental in shutting down Dzeko
Andrea Barzagli (Juventus) – Protected his side admirably, Fiorentina unable to to anything on his side of the field
Leonardo Bonucci (Juventus) – Frustrated Kalinic the whole game, gave him no room and barely touched the ball
Midfielders:
Valter Birsa (Chievo) – Was Chievo’s most dynamic player and scored the winning goal
Franco Vazquez (Palermo) – A joy to watch, catalyst for launching Palermo’s attack and also scored a goal
Riccardo Saponara (Empoli)- Always dangerous on the attack and scores a great goal
Forwards:
Massimo Maccarone (Empoli) – Scores a brace and was a constant threat up front
Mauro Icardi (Inter) – Led Inter with two goals
Paulo Dybala (Juventus) – Was in constant movement creating chances, setting up plays and scored a goal
